THEME! RANDOMNESS! These two concepts collide in an epic battle of control over the fun that’s had at the table. Ian and Jared sit down at the Featured Table to discuss the Star Wars wild west fame claiming game, Star Wars: Outer Rim.

Game Overview

Star Wars: Outer Rim immerses players in the gritty, lawless edges of the Star Wars galaxy. Players take on the roles of bounty hunters, mercenaries, and smugglers, navigating the Outer Rim in search of fame and fortune. But don’t be fooled into thinking this is all fun and games. After all, you are dealing with the Scum & Villainy of the universe! Players will need to make tough decisions about which bounties to pursue, which factions to align themselves with, which paths to take, and above all else, what ship to fly. Will you work your way up to buying the Millenium Falcon? Maybe you raid Lando’s closet and collect his precious cloak collection? Or you could upgrade your armory and be the most feared in all the galaxy? All of these choices and more lay at your fingertips.

But does this game live up to the vastness of the Star Wars Universe? Or does it crumble under the weight of randomness in disappointing dice rolls, card flips, and other elements that are just out of reach of player control? Find out as we discuss!

Harmonies is a 1-4 player tile organization game in which players are competing to build the best habitat to attract the most spirit animals to their landscape. Ian and Jared prepare the table to discuss their favorite animals, the idea of Cascadia and Azul having a baby together, and are there too many nature games? Additionally, they discuss how to play Harmonies, give their thoughts, and talk about how many of these types of games they need in their collection. Does this game outshine its mom and dad…I mean predecessors? Or does it blend in among the crowd of so many tile laying games? Find out, as we discuss!

Anna and Jared sit down at the two top table to take a look at the newly released stand alone Lorcana box: Illumineer’s Quest – Deep Trouble. They discuss the feel of a co-op mode for a collectible card game, give some thoughts to the two player decks that come with it, and share their thoughts for how accessible this box in particular is to someone that is looking at Lorcana from the outside. Does this game live up to the anticipation of this relatively untapped concept? Or does it grasp for air to try and be known amongst the sea of so many other great co-op games? Find out as we discuss.
